(Two-Photon Absorption)

Two-Photon Absorption (TPA or 2PA) is a third-order nonlinear optical phenomenon in which a molecule absorbs two photons at the same time, exciting an atom or ion to a higher-lying state, with the energy increase being equal to the sum of the photon energies.
